Another Reason to Scream in Frustration

Apparently, K is trying her best to overshadow Romola Garai, because now she's been cast as Cordelia in King Lear opposite Anthony Hopkins. Yes, Romola is going to be in a TV movie of Lear reprising her role from the RSC production, but it isn't far!

Why couldn't it have been Romola Garai? Or Sophia Myles? Why, oh why does K. get to be the one to play Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire?? Oh, that's right, because they're not big stars. *eyeroll*

I made the mistake of reading the reviews for "Atonement" at rottentomatoes.com.

I think that I will have to bury my head in the sand from January to April next year.

hope lost

The EmpireOnline Review

I just read the EmpireOnline review of "Atonement," and it gave me a headache.

It was an indictment of Romola that was probably entirely too harsh.

What disturbed me, however, was the perpetuation of the critical line we keep hearing with regard to The Jaw. I have a lot of trouble believing that Chinny Knightley turned in a better performance than Romola. I may be a bit biased, but honestly--- How many times can Knightley "finally arrive" as a thespian? Didn't they say that during her last turn in a Wright film? What are they saying now? "No, just kidding. She really was shit last time, because I want to say that she really arrived NOW. But don't take that seriously, because the next time she plays a so-called grown-up, I intend to take this statement back so that I can say that she's arrived AGAIN."

Has someone turned the TARDIS into a paradox machine again?

File this under...

I think I need to come up with a new tag because there are entirely too many gender-bending "I thought this was an emo 12 yr old boy" photos:

I really did think this was a boy, though.

Jaw Actually

Speaking of rather funny snark, my blogroll has yielded some wickedly laugh-inducing snark.

Linkage ahead:

The Seven Wonders of the Celebrity World

Guess what made #7--- The Jaw.

We’ll momentarily forget that her incredibly jutting and sharp chin is actually attached to a human being rather than starring in the movie itself.
